Dear Families,

I’m Anastasia, an art teacher, an artist and mom of two little ones. I believe that creativity belongs to everyone and that creativity should be shared!

I’ve been teaching visual art for 14 years, with experience working with both elementary and middle school students in the Central NY area. I have a Master’s degree in Art Education, and while I love exploring and teaching all kinds of art mediums…drawing, painting and printmaking have always been my favorites.

I love teaching and working with kids. Watching my students discover their own creativity is something I truly treasure. Some of the most imaginative, honest and beautiful things I’ve ever seen have come from children simply being given the opportunity to create and express themselves.

I firmly believe that art is a human trait, not a specialty. It’s something you’re born with and when creativity is nurtured, it isn’t about what you make or whether it looks “good.” It’s about how creating makes you feel, what you discover along the way and the confidence that comes from expressing an idea that is uniquely yours.

That’s why I believe art is such an important part of a child’s education. Art encourages creative problem solving, critical thinking, self-expression, identity, coordination and of course, creativity. But beyond all of that, making art can bring a little more joy into a child’s day.

P.S. Be Creative began with my hope of bringing that experience to more kids than I can reach in my own classroom. I wanted to create something that could bring art and creativity right into your home, delivered in a way that feels exciting, personal, and a little bit magical!

When I was growing up, my family took road trips and camping trips every summer. During one of those trips, I met a girl my age and we became pen pals. Our friendship lasted for years, and I remember how much I looked forward to getting a letter from her in the mail.

There is just something special about happy mail addressed to you when you’re a kid.

P.S. Be Creative is my way of bringing that feeling back, with a little creativity sprinkled in.

Happy mail rooted in creativity. That’s the goal!

Thank you for your support!
